• Prior to last weekend's matchup, Stanley had never thrown three interceptions in a game and had only one career game with multiple interceptions. U-M picked him off three times while limiting him to 260 yards passing on 42 passing attempts -- the second-highest total of his career. The only team that forced Stanley to throw more pass attempts (49) and intercepted him multiple times (2) was Penn State last season.
• The Wolverines absolutely shut down a Hawkeye rushing attack that averaged 217 yards per contest on the ground through the first four weeks, limiting Iowa to one net yard (72 gained, 71 lost), and the Hawkeyes' three points were their fewest since the 2017 Outback Bowl (30-3 loss to Florida). Including Saturday's result, Iowa is 61-2 under head coach Kirk Ferentz when the opposing team scores 10 points or fewer.
• Last weekend was the fourth game in five so far this year in which Michigan has forced multiple turnovers (Middle Tennessee State, Army, Rutgers).
• With a season-long 51-yard reception in the first quarter against Iowa, Nico Collins has at least one catch of 30 yards or longer in five of his last seven games dating to last season. He has 11 total games with a catch of 30+ yards over the past two years, with a long of 40 yards or more in eight contests.
• A couple of firsts for young Wolverines: freshman wide receiver Mike Sainristil recorded his first career reception for eight yards, and defensive back Daxton Hill recorded his first career pass breakup.
