
CWPA Names 10 Wolverines to Scholar-Athlete Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced its 2018 varsity scholar-athlete team on Tuesday (Aug. 21) with 10 University of Michigan student-athletes earning recognition.
Awards are given to all student-athletes who meet the required grade-point average of 3.2 or higher and saw playing time during the season. The individuals are awarded at three levels: excellent (3.2-3.4 GPA), superior (3.41-3.7 GPA) and outstanding (3.71-4.00 GPA).
Five Wolverines finished the year with a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70 to earn superior recognition. They are junior Kim Johnson, sophomores Skyler Pyle and Maddy Steere and freshmen Sara Campbell and Brittany Prentice.
Five other U-M student-athletes received excellent status with a GPA between 3.2 and 3.4. They are seniors Caroline Anderson and Laura Jimenez, junior Julia Sellers, sophomore Heidi Ritner and freshman Maddie O'Reilly.
Michigan was also recognized for having a team GPA above 3.00.
