
Sellers, Steere Named to All-CWPA First Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its 2018 all-conference teams on Thursday (April 26) with University of Michigan junior Julia Sellers and sophomore Maddy Steere being named to the first team.

Sellers picks up her first career all-conference honor after a breakout season. She leads the team in scoring with 74 goals, the sixth most in a single season by a Michigan student-athlete. She has topped 100 points for the first time in her career, ranking second on the squad with 105. She is also tied for the team lead with 40 sprints won.
Steere is a first-team selection for the second straight season, becoming the 14th Wolverine to be named to the first team in multiple seasons. She is third on the team with 98 points, scoring 68 goals to go with 30 assists. She has excelled on both ends of the pool, scoring on 45 percent of her shots and leading the team with 17 field blocks. She also leads the team with 47 drawn exclusions and has 44 steals.
Michigan has had two or more first-team honorees in 14 of its 18 seasons as a program.
The Wolverines will open the CWPA Championship on Friday (April 27) against Brown at 1:30 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
