SARASOTA, Fla. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis program sent three team members to the Lakewood Ranch Invitational this weekend (Nov. 2-3).
Senior Gabe Tishman earned two wins in the tournament before falling short in the quarterfinals to Notre Dame's Guilermo Cabrera (4-6, 4-6). His two wins came against Louisville's Brandon Lancaster in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, and Juan Montes of Florida Gulf Coast, 6-4, 5-7, 10-6.
Sophomore Kristofer Siimar and freshman Steven Forman each picked up victories in the Round of 32 before bowing out of the tournament in the Round of 16.
The doubles combination of Forman and Tishman earned one win against the Illinois duo of Vuk Budic and Noe Khlif, 6-3.
Michigan has concluded its fall schedule and will begin its spring schedule on Saturday, Jan. 19, when its travels to Alabama.
