The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) heads south for its annual midseason meet, competing at the UGA Fall Invitational from Thursday to Saturday (Nov. 29-Dec. 1) at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Georgia.
Joining Michigan and Georgia at the three-day meet will be California, Virginia and UCLA. Preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m., with finals following at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Live video will be provided via SECN+ on both Thursday and Friday.

Notes
• Michigan is competing at the UGA Fall Invitational for the third consecutive year. The Wolverines finished second in 2017 and sixth in 2016. Last year, U-M achieved 56 NCAA A or B cuts and four NCAA Zone Diving qualifying scores.
• U-M jumped to No. 4 in the latest CSCAA/TYR Top 25 poll, sharing the spot with Florida. The next poll will be released on Dec. 5. [ Poll ]
• With one weekend of nationwide invitationals already completed, the distance duo of Ricardo Vargas and Felix Auböck continue to rank among the best. Vargas has the NCAA's top time in the 1,000-yard freestyle (8:46.64) -- the 16th-fastest time in history, according to SwimSwam -- while Auböck ranks first in the 500-yard freestyle (4:13.06).
• All four divers -- Ross Todd, Jake Herremans, Collin DeShaw and Chris Canning -- have qualified for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, held March March 14-16 in West Lafayette, Ind. Todd, Herremans and Canning have achieved scores in all three diving disciplines, while DeShaw has them on one- and three-meter only. [ Diving Bests ]
• The Wolverines announced their five-man signing class on Nov. 20, penning swimmers Cam Peel (Spring Lake, Michigan), Christian Farricker (Cos Cot, Connecticut), River Wright (Attleboro, Massachusetts), Andrew Trepanier (Lakeville, Minnesota) and Noah Yarian (Fort Wayne, Indiana) to National Letters of Intent for the 2019-20 season. • Program alum Tom Dolan (1994-96) was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor of Nov. 17. One of the best swimmers in program history, Dolan was a nine-time NCAA champion, two-time Big Ten Swimmer of the Year and the 1995 Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year. He was a two-time Olympian for the United States, winning gold medals in the 400-meter IM in 1996 and 2000.
