Maize & Blue Announce Coaching Staff Additions

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Newly minted University of Michigan men's lacrosse head coach Kevin Conry has announced the retention of Conor Ford, as well as the appointment of Jim Rogalski, who recently served as head coach at Lafayette, to the Wolverine coaching staff, the program announced today (Friday, Aug. 25).
Ford, who will be retained after serving as offensive coordinator for the Wolverines the past three seasons, has guided the offense to steady improvement during his time in Ann Arbor.
"Conor's resume as an offensive mind in the lacrosse landscape is second to none," said Conry. "As a former teammate, we have known each other for a long time and he is someone that I can depend on to continue the upwards trajectory of our offensive unit."
In 2017, U-M set several program standards, highlighted by single-season team records for points (237) and assists (89). The offense has improved in each of Ford's seasons, according to AnalyticsLacrosse.com -- as the unit ranked No. 28 in offensive efficiency last season (29.8 percent).
Conry and Ford were teammates at Johns Hopkins from 2001-04. The two standouts helped guide the Blue Jays to the NCAA semifinals in 2002 and 2004, and a berth in the NCAA title game in 2003.
Joining Ford as a coordinator will be Rogalski, who spent the last five seasons as the head coach at Lafayette. Previously, he served as head coach at Division III Scranton (Pa.) for three seasons (2010-12) and possesses a familiarity with Rutgers, where he was an assistant coach for six seasons (2004-09). His resume also includes stops at Drexel, Washington & Lee, Goucher, Western New England, and his alma mater, St. Mary's College of Maryland.
"I consider us extremely fortunate to bring in someone as well established as Jim is," said Conry. "He will be leaned on heavily in the defensive end. His ability to develop and mentor quality defenseman will be a major asset to the program."
Rogalski was a four-year letterman and three-year starter at St. Mary's, earning All-Capital Conference honors.
