ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Steady rain and wet conditions prevented the University of Michigan softball team from taking the field for its fall ball exhibition doubleheader against the National Pro Fastpitch League's USSSA Pride on Thursday (Sept. 29) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field.
Michigan will now play a single game against the Pride at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 30). The Pride, whose roster features Wolverine alumnae Jordan Taylor (2008-11), Lauren Sweet (2012-15) and Sierra Romero (2013-16), will also face Toledo at 6 p.m. on Friday as originally scheduled. Admission to both games is free.
Michigan posted a 4-0 record last weekend in its fall ball debut at the Traverse City College Tournament, defeating Central Michigan (3-1, 4-0), Saginaw Valley State (6-0) and Western Michigan (4-0). The Wolverines also have an upcoming home-and-home series against Michigan State, facing the Spartans at 4 p.m. on Oct. 6 in East Lansing, Michigan, before hosting them at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Alumni Field.
