Men's Swimming: 200m Freestyle Heats/4x100m Freestyle Relay Heats
Former U-M volunteer assistant coach Michael Phelps added to his Olympic medal tally with a 19th career gold, swimming the second leg on Team USA's 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Earlier, incoming freshman Felix Auböck (Austria) nearly qualified for the semifinals of the 200-meter freestyle, finishing 18th (1:47.24), while alums Miguel Ortiz and Bruno Ortiz (Spain) swam on their country's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team -- with Bruno anchoring -- that finished 14th (3:16.71).
• 200-meter Freestyle: 18 - Felix Auböck (1:47.24)
• 4x100-meter Freestyle Relay: 1 - United States (3:09.92), 14 - Spain (3:16.71)

Women's Swimming: 100m Backstroke Heats
Former women's swimmer and current Club Wolverine Elite trainee Claudia Lau (Hong Kong) swam the first of her two events in Rio, narrowly missing out on a spot in the semifinal with a 19th-place finish (1:01.27).

Rowing: Women's Pair/Double Sculls
Sunday's racing was postponed due to high winds at the Olympic Rowing Course on Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. Scheduled to compete for USRowing were Felice Mueller (2009-12) and partner Grace Luczak (2008) in the pair heats as well as Ellen Tomek (2004-06) in the double sculls repechage. Those races were rescheduled for Monday (Aug. 8).
