The University of Michigan rowing team will send two eights to race at the 52nd Head of the Charles this weekend (Oct. 22-23) along with an alumni eight in Boston.
THINGS TO KNOW
• The Head of the Charles attracts more than 11,000 athletes each year
• Michigan will race two eights in the women's championship eights race on Sunday at 2:36 p.m.
• U-M will be among the 33 entries in the event
• The alumni eight will kick off the weekend looking to win for the third straight year in the women's alumni eights race at 12:31 p.m. on Saturday
• Last year, the U-M alumni eight won with a time of 17:27.307, while in 2014 the crew topped Virginia with a time of 15:56.659.
• Racing in this year's alumni boat will be Sarah Trowbridge, Lindsey Healy, Bryna Oleshansky, Alex Spaulding, Natalie Eisermann, Felice Mueller, Ellen Tomek and Amanda Elmore (Laura Dunn)
• Mueller, Tomek and Elmore are all volunteer coaches at Michigan, while Oleshansky also works in the athletic department
• Felice Mueller will race back-to-back days as she will compete with the New York Athletic Club in the women's championship eights race on Sunday at 2: 36 p.m., going head to head with the two current U-M eights
