U-M shot 52.8 percent (28-for-52) from the field and has shot 50 percent or better seven times so far this season.
It was a special night for Caris LeVert, as he scored his 1,000th career point (1,010) and recorded his first career triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. He became the 49th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone and the fourth Wolverine to record a triple-double. He joins Darius Morris (2011, 12P-10R-11A), Manny Harris (2009, 18P-13R-10A) and Gary Grant (1987, 24P-10R-10A) in the triple-double category. LeVert has scored in double figures in 10 out of 11 games so far this season.
Duncan Robinson hit a season-high six three pointers (6-for-8), going 6-for-7 in the first half. He has hit three or more three-pointers in seven straight games and five or more in five games this season.
Derrick Walton Jr. was in the starting lineup tonight after missing the last three game due to an ankle injury. He put up 16 points (5-for-10) and added three rebounds. Tonight was the fourth time Walton has reached double digits so far this season, while his 15 points are the most since the second game of the season against Elon.
Mark Donnal had a season-high 11 points, coming close to his career best of 13, which he recorded against SMU last season (Dec. 20, 2014).
The Wolverines had five players in double digits in points -- Duncan Robinson (18), Derrick Walton Jr. (16), Caris LeVert (13), Mark Donnal (11) and Zak Irvin (10). Ricky Doyle was just shy of double digits with nine points. The last time U-M had five players in double digits was last season against Syracuse (Dec. 2).
Northern Kentucky shot 53.6 percent (15-for-28) in the first half, but Michigan held the Norse to just 37.9 percent (11-for-29) shooting in the second half.
Northern Kentucky attempted just two free throws on the night, going a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe in the second half.
