ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sophomore Addi Halligan is an attacker from Palm Desert, California, and is contemplating entering the School of Information at the University of Michigan. MGoBlue.com sat down with Halligan for a Q&A.
Q. Why did you choose the University of Michigan?
A. I loved the whole atmosphere when I came here on my visit. It felt right. The academics, the big school feel and the football atmosphere all helped my decision. I remember coming here and watching the team play at a tournament, and I could really picture myself playing with them. It was a big moment for me to see myself here.
Q. How did you get started playing water polo?
A. I started water polo my freshman year of high school. I played soccer for nine years before water polo, and I fractured my ankle. I had a friend that was playing water polo, and I wanted to try it, start something new.
Q. What did you do last summer?
A. I stayed for spring term and trained. Then I went to Hawaii with my family for 10 days, and it was really fun. I went skydiving.
Q. What community service activities do you like to do?
A. On Thursdays, we go to Mott, which is really cool. I do it a lot when we practice eight hours a week, but when we are in 20 hours it is very hard.
Q. What is your favorite place on campus?
A. I really like the diag. It is nice to sit and read there.
Q. Who is the first person you call after a bad day?
A. My mom or my best friend who goes to Hawaii
Q. If you could come out at the start of a match to an entrance song, what would it be?
A. Power by Kanye West
Q. What is your favorite Michigan sporting event to attend?
A. Football. It is such a great college town. On game day, everyone is out and walking around.
Q. What is your favorite follow on social media?
A. Doug the Pug on Instagram
Q. What is your most prized possession?
A. Probably my phone because I can do so much with it. I listen to music walking to class, text, check my email, even do homework with it.
Q. What is the biggest thing you miss about home? (From Heidi Moreland)
A. My poodle Lucy
