Today's contest marked the 151st meeting between Michigan and Purdue. The 64-51 loss snaps a four-game Wolverines win streak over the Boilermakers. U-M trails 84-67 overall and has a 24-52 record in games play at Mackey Arena in the all-time series.
Today's game marked the first time this season Michigan's 'Big 3' failed to have at least one of them score in double figures as Zak Irvin and Derrick Walton Jr. each had eight, and Caris LeVert had six points. Overall, U-M has scored 55 or fewer points in five games this season, including four of its last six.
Michigan's 18 second-half points are the lowest total in a half this season. Overall, it is the 16th time in the John Beilein era the Wolverines have scored fewer than 20 points in a half. The last time U-M had less than 20 points was 19 in the first half against Wisconsin on Feb. 16, 2014.
Michigan finished with a season-low 22 rebounds. It is the lowest for the Wolverines since they had 24 total against Kentucky in the NCAA Elite Eight on March 30, 2014.
Spike Albrecht was the only Wolverine to score in double figures as he equaled his career best with 17 points. He finished the game 4-for-7 from the field, including a 4-for-5 performance from long range, both tying career highs He also set career best in free throws (5) and free throw attempts (6).
Going 4-for-5 from long range, Albrecht snapped a 0-for-6 drought -- a stretch of three games -- from beyond the arc. In fact, he was 1-for-12 from long range over his last five.
With one three-pointer, Zak Irvin has made at least one long-range bucket in every game this season and extended his streak to 17 total games. For the season, he has 38 total.
Albrecht played in his 90th consecutive game for U-M. He has not missed a game in three seasons. Likewise, Irvin played in his 51st straight game, not missing a game in two seasons.
