With the 10-6 win at Ohio State, the Wolverines have won a season-best five games in a row, the program's longest winning streak since March 8-23, 2013. Michigan has also won five straight games in Big Ten play.
The Wolverines recorded 10 goals in a game for the first time since Oct. 13, 2011, when they defeated St. Lawrence, 10-3, at Yost Ice Arena. Michigan set a new school mark for most goals scored in a Big Ten contest.
Michigan reached the 10-goal mark in a road game for the first time since Feb. 10, 1996, when U-M earned a 12-0 win at Illinois-Chicago.
The 10-6 contest marked the most combined goals scored in a Michigan game since Jan. 13, 1990, a 9-8 (OT) loss at Bowling Green.
The Wolverines reached the 10-goal mark in a game against Ohio State for the sixth time in program history and the first time since a 10-2 win at OSU on March 5, 1995.
U-M has recorded 39 goals in six Big Ten Conference games, leading the league with an average of 6.5 goals per game. Michigan's scoring average overall is up to nation-leading 4.15 goals per game.
Michigan is now 77-33-12 in the all-time series against Ohio State after defeating the Buckeyes tonight. The Wolverines have a 36-16-5 road record against Ohio State. U-M is unbeaten in its last 10 (9-0-1) against OSU, the longest unbeaten run in the series since the 1990s when the Wolverines went 29-0-5 against Ohio State from Jan. 26, 1990-Jan. 1, 1998
The Wolverines topped the seven-goal mark for the fifth time this season. The last time a Michigan team had seven or more goals in five games in a single season was 2006-07.
Nine different players recorded multiple-point nights, led by Dylan Larkin (2G, 3A), who notched a new career high for points in a game. Zach Hyman (2G, A), Tyler Motte (2G, A), Justin Selman (G, 2A), Michael Downing (2A), Andrew Copp (G, A), Cristoval 'Boo' Nieves (2A), Zach Werenski (2A) and Alex Kile (G, A) also had multiple-point nights for Michigan. Hyman leads the team with nine multiple-point games this season.
Hyman also leads the team and the Big Ten with 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) this season. He has points and goals in five straight games and nine of his last 10 contests.
Freshman forward Dylan Larkin has points in five straight and seven of the last seven games. Larkin leads all Big Ten freshmen with 25 points (8G, 17A) on the season after recording his second straight two-goal game.
Michigan's special teams continue to improve as the Wolverines have recorded a power-play goal in seven of the last eight games after finishing the night 2-for-4 on the man advantage. U-M is 13-for-28 (46.4%) on the PP in that span.
