CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Three divers from the No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team completed competition Saturday (Nov. 22) at the 2014 Dowd Nike Cup, held at the University of North Carolina and Duke University. The first two days were held at the Maurice J. Koury Natatorium in Chapel Hill, while the final day was held at the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion in Durham due to North Carolina not having a 10-meter platform at their pool.

Of the three divers in action, senior Thomas Jahnke recorded top-six finishes in each event. He was fourth on platform (255.95) and one-meter (311.45) and sixth on three-meter (300.70). Jahnke also qualified for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships thanks to his score on the one-meter springboard.

Senior Kevin Bain earned a top-three finish on platform, taking third (282.30). He was also 11th on one-meter (267.65) and 12th on three-meter (294.30).

The other diver competing was freshman JP Flangos, who made his collegiate debut during the meet. He was 11th on platform (192.60), 14th on one-meter (240.20) and 16th on three-meter (217.50).

The swimmers will next be in action from Dec. 3-6 at the U.S. Winter National Championships in Greensboro, N.C. Preliminaries will begin at 9 a.m., with finals at 6 p.m. on each day but Wednesday, which will start at 6 p.m.
