Michigan Head Coach Greg Ryan
On his thoughts on today's game ... "They had us on our back foot a little bit in the first half and then we fought back in the second half. It was just a scrappy game for both teams. And then Steiner hits that great shot, and I was really proud of the girls because they didn't drop their heads, they didn't give up, they just keep fighting and found the goal. At the end, I'm happy because these are games that could go either way and we're still finding a way to stay in them. For a young team, we learned a lot tonight. Northwestern probably fought us -- in terms of being aggressive and scrapping for every ball -- as hard as any team we've played all year. For a young team like us, it's great to have to survive that. I'm proud of the girls for never letting up the entire game."
On how the team will approach the final two Big Ten matches ... "We're excited to go down and play Illinois on Sunday. It will be a very different kind of game. They're not the kind of team like Northwestern that will fight you for every piece of grass on the field. Hopefully that game will be a little more settled. We're in third place and we have to try and pick up some points in the next couple of games. But for a young team, it's been a phenomenal run so far. It's not like we're all seniors and juniors and this was expected of us. I'm really happy with how they're doing and how they continue to fight."
