
Michigan Earns GCAA All-Academic Team Award

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Michigan men's golf team was named as an All-Academic team selection today (Wednesday, July 31) by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Wolverines were one of 79 Division I teams recognized for achieving team grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
During the 2012-13 season, graduated seniors Matt Alessi (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Birmingham Brother Rice) and Miguel Echavarria (Medellin, Colombia/The Columbus School) each were named Academic All-Big Ten recipients as well as U-M Athletic Academic Achievement selections. Echavarria was also named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the second straight year.
Additionally, Noori Hyun (Seoul, Korea/Centreville HS [Va.]) and freshmen Chris O'Neill (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run HS) and Andrew Yeager (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central HS) earned U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recognition.
