Postgame Notes: #7 Michigan vs. #21 Louisiana-Lafayette

• Michigan improved to 50-11 with the win, the 11th time it has reached the 50-win plateau in program history.
• Michigan clinches a berth in its 10th Women's College World Series and first since 2009.
• Michigan went 21-1 at Alumni Field this season.
• Michigan is now 7-7 all-time against Louisiana-Lafayette and 2-4 in NCAA tournament play.
• U-M is now 9-12 in Super Regional games and has won three of its eight Super Regional series.
• Sierra Romero reached base six consecutive times in today's doubleheader, with two hit-by-pitches (one in each game), three walks and one hit.
Game Two
• Ashley Lane knocked in her 59th and 60th runs of the season, tying former U-M players Dorian Shaw (2008-11) and Maggie Viefhaus (2007-10) for the seventh-best single-season tally (Shaw and Viefhaus both accomplished it in 2010).
• Lane now has 171 career RBI, the fifth-best career total. She passed Catherine Davie (170) today.
• Lane has 17 multiple-RBI games, three behind Sierra Romero this season (20).
• Lane collected the 17th and 18th RBI in her postseason career, tops among current Wolverines.
• Romero scored her 66th run of the season, the third-best single-season tally for a U-M player (Angela Findlay scored 69 in 2010, Maggie Viefhaus (2010) and Jessica Merchant (2005) each scored 67).
• Romero tied Dorian Shaw for third-most walks in a single season with her 47th.
• Sara Driesenga pitched 7.0 innings and allowed one unearned run. She was technically not the starting pitcher and does not get credit for a complete game.
• Driesenga earned her 30th win of the season, giving her the sixth most in one season by a U-M pitcher.
• Amy Knapp went 2-for-3, tying a season high with two hits (13 other times, last: vs. Northwestern on May 5).
• Brandi Virgil entered the game as a pinch runner in the seventh inning, her 39th appearance this season.
Game One
• Nicole Sappingfield stole her seventh base of the season and set a new career high (previous: six in 2011).
• Lauren Sweet tied a career high with two walks (twice previously).
• Caitlin Blanchard turned the first unassisted double play of the season in the bottom of the fifth.
• Michigan tied a season high with two double plays (last: vs. Arizona on March 15).
