• Michigan moves to 31-7 overall this season. Its 31 wins match the most in a season since the 1992-93 season when the Wolverines went 31-5. It also marks the most wins in a season for John Beilein as a head coach. Previously, he led West Virginia to a 27-9 season in 2006-07.
• Michigan made its third appearance at the Georgia Dome. U-M went 1-1 in the 1998 NCAA Tournament defeating Davidson (80-61) before falling to UCLA (85-82).
• Today's matchup marked the first meeting between Michigan and Syracuse in the NCAA Tournament.
• John Beilein earned his first career win against Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim and Syracuse; he was 0-9 in their previous nine meetings. Beilein is now 1-1 against the Orange while at Michigan; he was 0-2 against Syracuse while at Richmond and 0-6 while at West Virginia.
• Head coach John Beilein is now 28-14 all-time in postseason play, including a 13-7 mark in the NCAA Division I Tournament and a 7-3 record at Michigan.

• Michigan is the youngest team in the NCAA Tournament. U-M starts three freshmen and a sophomore.• Trey Burke scored in single digits for the second time this season -- both of which have come in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. In his career, Burke has had just six single-digit scoring games.
• With his four assists, Trey Burke improved upon his sophomore and single-season record, which he set against VCU (236). He now has 257 assists this season. Burke has dished out four or more in 29 of 31 games this season.
• With his three steals, Trey Burke surpassed Daniel Horton (60, 2003-04) and moved into eighth all-time at Michigan for steals in a single season with 62 this season.
• With his 10 points and 12 rebounds today, Mitch McGary recorded his fifth career double-double and third in the last four games. He continues averaging a double-double through five games in the NCAA Tournament, averaging 16.0 points and 11.6 rebounds.
• Spike Albrecht has made at least one three-point field goal in his last four straight games, including a career-best 2-for-2 effort tonight. He is a perfect 5-for-5 in the NCAA Tournament.
• Caris LeVert drained his first three-point field goal in 11 games. He finished the game 2-for-3 from long range.
• Tim Hardaway Jr. has recorded five assists in each of the last two games.
• Mitch McGary had a career-best three assists in the first half, before finishing with a team-high six.
• Mitch McGary earned his fifth consecutive start and seventh of his career. The Wolverines are 6-1 with McGary in the starting lineup.
