
Divers Begin Zone C Championships with Three-Meter Springboard

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Three divers from the No. 21-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team competed on the three-meter today (Thursday, March 14) at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. The contingent was led by junior Erin Bridgewater (Kawkawlin, Mich./Bay City Western), who finished in 40th place with 225.55 points.
Two other Wolverine divers finished close behind Bridgewater. In her first appearance at Zones, freshman Sarah Kamstra (Zeeland, Mich./Zeeland West) placed 41st (222.15). Sophomore Marina Nazario (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) took 45th place (216.60).
These three divers along with sophomore Carey Chen (Vancouver, British Columbia/University Hill Secondary) will return to competition tomorrow (Friday, March 15) for the one-meter springboard. Preliminaries begin at 1 p.m. inside the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
