With the win, Michigan improves to 18-12 (8-9 Big Ten) for the season.
The Wolverines are now 5-5 on the road and 4-5 away from home in Big Ten play.
With the win, Michigan evened the season series with the Golden Gophers at a game apiece and improved to 83-65 all-time against Minnesota. The Wolverines are now 30-44 against the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Wolverines with 22 points on 7-of-11 (64 percent) shooting, including 5-of-8 (63 percent) behind the arc. Hardaway has scored in double figures in 11 straight and 15 out of his last 16 games. He has led the Wolverines in scoring in nine games this year.
The five triples by Hardaway tied a career high for the freshman. Hardaway also connected on five triples in each of the two games against Iowa.
Darius Morris scored 17 points on 8-of-15 (53 percent) shooting. It was his 25th double-digit scoring effort this season.
The Wolverines shot 45 percent (25-of-55) from the field. Michigan shot 43 percent (12-of-28) from behind the arc.
U-M lost the rebounding battle, 34-26. The Wolverines are 8-11 when they are out-rebounded by their opponent.
The Wolverines had 15 assists and turned the ball over only four times. Michigan is 14-7 when it has a positive assist/turnover ratio.
The game featured nine ties and 12 lead changes. Michigan led by as much as 12 points in the first half.
The Wolverines wore their blue jerseys for the ninth time this season. Michigan is now 4-5 this season when wearing blue.
For the sixth straight game, Michigan went with the starting lineup of Darius Morris, Stu Douglass, Zack Novak, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jordan Morgan.
