With the loss, Michigan falls to 17-12 (7-9 Big Ten) for the season. The Wolverines fall to 13-5 at Crisler Arena this season.
With the loss, Michigan falls to 89-64 (82-62*) all-time against Wisconsin. The Wolverines are now 54-21 against the Badgers in Ann Arbor. John Beilein has never defeated Wisconsin (0-9).
Michigan is now 1-7 against ranked opponents this season. The Wolverines have not defeated a ranked opponent at Crisler Arena this season (0-5).
Wednesday's game marked the second matchup this season between Michigan and Wisconsin. The Badgers have swept the series after taking the first meeting, 66-50, in Madison on Jan. 5.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Wolverines with 16 points on 6-of-13 (46 percent) shooting, including 4-of-7 (57 percent) behind the arc. Hardaway has scored in double figures in 10 straight and 14 out of his last 15 games. He has led the Wolverines in scoring in eight games this year. Hardaway added four rebounds, three assists and a steal in the loss.
Jordan Morgan scored 12 points on 5-of-7 (71 percent) shooting. It was his 12th double-digit scoring effort this season. Morgan added five rebounds.
Zack Novak led the Wolverines with six rebounds. He has posted the team high in rebounds in 14 games this season. Novak added three points and two assists in the game.
The Wolverines shot 49 percent (20-of-41) from the field -- 67 percent (12-of-18) in the first half and 35 percent (8-of-23) in the second half. Michigan shot 54 percent (7-of-13) from behind the arc -- 40 percent (2-of-5) in the first half and 63 percent (5-of-8) in the second half.
U-M lost the rebounding battle, 32-30. The Wolverines are 7-11 when they are out-rebounded by their opponent.
The Wolverines had 12 assists and turned the ball over 11 times. Michigan is 13-7 when it has a positive assist/turnover ratio.
Michigan's defense forced Wisconsin into five turnovers, leading to seven points. U-M is 8-6 when it has more turnovers than its opponent.
Michigan outscored Wisconsin in points in the paint (22-16) and fast break points (4-0). The Badgers outscored the Wolverines in points off turnovers (18-7) and second-chance points (8-0).
The game featured seven ties and 10 lead changes. Michigan led by as much as five points and never trailed by more than four.
The Wolverines wore their maize jerseys for the 11th time this season. Michigan is now 5-6 this season when wearing maize.
