With the win, Michigan improves to 16-10 (6-7 Big Ten) for the season and eclipses its win total from last season. This was U-M's fifth win in its last six games. The Wolverines are now 13-4 at Crisler Arena this season.
With the win, Michigan improves to 55-100 (52-93*) all-time against Indiana. The Wolverines are now 42-36 against the Hoosiers at Crisler Arena.
Saturday's game marked the second matchup this season between Michigan and Indiana. The teams split the two games, with each team winning at home. In the first meeting, the Hoosiers defeated the Wolverines, 80-61, on Jan. 15.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Wolverines with a career-high 26 points on 9-of-11 (82 percent) shooting, including 4-of-6 (67 percent) from three-point range. Hardaway has led Michigan in scoring in six games this season. Hardaway added three rebounds and two steals in the win.
Zack Novak tied a career high with a game-high six assists against Indiana. Novak also recorded six assists against Minnesota (March 2, 2010). Novak added 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds in the win over the Hoosiers.
With his five assists against Indiana, Darius Morris moved into sixth place on the Wolverines' single-season assists list, passing Daniel Horton (174). Morris now has 177 assists this season.
Tim Hardaway Jr. (26), Darius Morris (15), Stu Douglass (13) and Zack Novak (10) each scored in double figures for the Wolverines. This was the first time that at least four players scored double-digit points for U-M since the entire starting lineup did so against Iowa on Jan. 30. Michigan is 6-2 this season when at least four players reach double-digit points.
Michigan shot 54 percent (23-of-43) from the field -- 46 percent (10-of-22) in the first half and 62 percent (13-of-21) in the second half. The Wolverines also shot 53 percent (8-of-15) from beyond the arc -- 20 percent (1-of-5) in the first half and 70 percent (7-of-10) in the second half.
U-M lost the rebounding battle, 34-28. The Wolverines are 6-9 this season when they are outrebounded by their opponent.
The Wolverines had 13 assists and turned the ball over 12 times. Michigan is 12-5 this season when it records a positive assist/turnover ratio.
Michigan's defense forced Indiana into 13 turnovers, leading to 13 points. U-M is 7-5 when it commits fewer turnovers than its opponent.
The game featured one tie and one lead change. Michigan never trailed after taking a 5-2 lead on a Tim Hardaway Jr. three-pointer, leading by as much as 22.
The Wolverines wore their white jerseys for the 10th time this season. Michigan is now 9-1 this season when wearing white.
For the second straight game, Michigan went with the starting lineup of Darius Morris, Stu Douglass, Zack Novak, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jordan Morgan.
