• With the win, Michigan improves to 5-0 on the season. The Wolverines have an 18-13 record in Thanksgiving tournaments and a 50-36 mark in regular-season tourneys.
• The 5-0 mark is U-M's best start under coach Kevin Borseth. The 1996-97 team also opened 5-0, and Michigan's 1999-2000 squad began the season 7-0 to hold the best start in the program's history.
• Today's game was the first meeting between Michigan and Prairie View A&M. U-M moves to 100-60 when facing teams for the first time.
• The win gives U-M a 4-0 slate when facing teams out the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
• U-M extended its three-point shooting streak to 163 consecutive games. Michigan has not been without at least one three-pointer in the Kevin Borseth era.
• Rachel Sheffer led the Wolverines with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Sheffer recorded a career-high four blocks to match a season-high six rebounds.
• Jenny Ryan registered a career high with 10 rebounds to go with a season-high nine points. Ryan shot 4-of-7 and recorded team highs in steals (5) and assists (4). Ryan has led Michigan in steals in four of five games.
• Michigan won the rebounding battle, 45-43, and has held the edge on the boards in four games this season. Michigan was 16-3 last season when keeping the rebounding margin to 10 or less.
• Overall, Michigan shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58) from the field. U-M shot 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from three-point range and 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the free throw line.
• Brenae Harris, off the bench, scored her first collegiate basket in the first half at 10:06 mark. Harris added a point from the free throw line to finish off the three-point play.
• Nicole Elmblad posted a career-high seven points and finished with two rebounds and two assists.
• For the fifth consecutive game, Michigan went with the starting lineup of Courtney Boylan, Nicole Elmblad, Jenny Ryan, Carmen Reynolds and Rachel Sheffer.
