Series Notes
With the win tonight, Michigan earned a regular-season series split with Notre Dame. This is the fourth straight season the teams have split their matchups.
Michigan leads the all-time series against Notre Dame at 70-48-5 (.589) and is 40-22-3 in Ann Arbor.
Team Notables
The second-period goals scored by Matt Rust and Chad Langlais were the fastest consecutive goals scored by Michigan this season, occurring 28 seconds apart. Michigan scored 59 seconds apart on Oct. 22 against Nebraska-Omaha.
The three-goal outburst in the second period marked the fourth time this season the Wolverines have accomplished this feat. The other three occurrences were on Oct. 9 at Bowling Green, Oct. 23 versus Nebraska-Omaha and Nov. 6 at Alaska.
Michigan defensemen registered five more points (2-3-5) tonight, increasing their season total to 32 (7-25-32) in 12 games. All eight rearguards have at least one point.
Michigan's third line, consisting of Luke Moffatt, A.J. Treais, and Chris Brown, tallied six points (1-5-6) tonight.
Michigan killed off three penalties in the final 6:09 of the third period, including the last 1:26 of the game in a 6-on-4 situation when Notre Dame pulled its goaltender. They were the only three penalty kills of the weekend as U-M committed zero penalties on Nov. 12.
Michigan increases its record on Saturday to 5-0-2, outscoring the opposition 30-17.

Player Notables
With an assist tonight, Jon Merrill took over the team lead in points among defensemen with eight (1-7-8).
Carl Hagelin's goal proved to be his team-best third game-winning tally of the season.
Hagelin leads the team with 13 points (5-8-13). He is tied with David Wohlberg and Scooter Vaughan for the team lead in goals.
Goaltender Bryan Hogan made 34 stops for his seventh career 30-plus save outing, including two this season. He is 5-2-0 in those games and 2-0-0 this season.
