Postgame Notes: Michigan 66, Penn State 62

• Michigan trails the all-time series with Penn State, 9-24. Today's win snapped a two-game skid against the Lady Lions and was U-M's fifth win ever over Penn State at Crisler Arena. The victory was also the third consecutive win for the Wolverines, all in Big Ten Conference play.
• Michigan broke the all-time attendance record in today's game as 5,926 fans came to watch the Wolverines. U-M's previous attendance record was 5,596 against Michigan State on Jan. 13, 2008.
• U-M picked up its second win over a ranked opponent with today's win over Penn State. The Wolverines also defeated nationally-ranked Xavier. Michigan has knocked off four ranked opponents since head coach Kevin Borseth took over the team in 2007-08.
• The Wolverines posted their 20th game with double-figure assists with 10 assists today. U-M's lone game without double-figure assists was a 59-56 loss to Ohio State on Jan. 3 when it posted nine assists.
• U-M shot better than 40 percent for the third consecutive game and for the 14th time this season. Michigan shot a season-best 57.4 percent against Southern Mississippi on Nov. 19.
• Michigan was outrebounded for the first time in three games by Penn State. Prior to today's game, the last team that outrebounded the Wolverines was Indiana, 38-37, on Jan. 14.
• With 10 points today, senior Krista Phillips now has 946 career points and needs 54 more points to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
• Phillips posted double-digit rebounds for the third time this season with her 10 rebounds in today's game. It is her second double-double of the season. Michigan has had five players post double-figure rebounds this season.
• Sophomore Carmen Reynolds posted her ninth consecutive game in double figures this season with 18 points in today's contest. She has been in double figures 16 times this season.
• Junior Veronica Hicks was in double figures for the 15th time this season with 18 points in today's contest. She scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half.
• Today was Alumni Day and the Wolverines welcomed back 25 former U-M Alumni including All-American Alayne Ingram who appeared on U-M's halftime radio show. Additionally, former players from coach Borseth's Michigan Tech and Wisconsin-Green Bay teams were in attendance.
