• Michigan changed its starting lineup, with Stu Douglass getting the start for the first time this season over Darius Morris. Laval Lucas-Perry, Manny Harris, Zack Novak and DeShawn Sims also got the start.
• With the loss, Michigan falls to 5-1 all-time against Kansas. The Wolverines are also 1-21 all-time against No. 1-ranked opponents.
• With his start against Kansas, Manny Harris has now started all 77 games in his U-M career, while Stu Douglass has played in all 45 in his career. Zack Gibson extended his consecutive-games played streak to 77, while DeShawn Sims has played in 107 consecutive for Michigan.
• DeShawn Sims netted 19 points to lead Michigan in scoring. He has scored double-digit points in all but two games this season (Dec. 2 vs. Boston College, Nov. 27 vs. Marquette).
• Manny Harris chipped in 16 points and tied a season high with four assists. He also logged a game-high 37 minutes.
• DeShawn Sims held Kansas center and Preseason All-America candidate Cole Aldrich to just five points in the contest. Aldrich was averaging over 11 points per game on the season.
• Stu Douglass got the start at guard for the first time this season, replacing Darius Morris. Douglass scored eight points and tied a season high in rebounds (4).
• Zack Novak scored eight points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven but also dove for countless loose balls and took two charges as well.
• Darius Morris scored nine points off the bench for Michigan, his highest point total since the season opener against Northern Michigan on Nov. 14.
• Michigan converted 11-of-13 from the free-throw line, making it the highest free-throw conversion percentage of the season (84 percent). Over the last two games, U-M is a combined 28-of-34 from the free-throw line. Kansas went 19-of-26 from the free-throw line, making it only the third game this season in which an opponent has gotten to the free-throw line more times than Michigan (Dec. 2 vs. Boston College, Nov. 27 vs. Marquette).
• Michigan collected 14 offensive rebounds, the third-highest total of the season.
• Michigan has had more assists than turnovers in every game this season. Against Kansas, the Wolverines had 15 assists and 10 turnovers.
• With 10 steals against Kansas, Michigan has now recorded 10 or more in four games this season. U-M had a season-best 15 against Alabama (Nov. 29), 11 at Utah (Dec. 9) and 10 against Creighton (Nov. 26).
• Michigan edged Kansas in points off turnovers (16-15) and in second-chance points (11-7). Both teams had the same amount of fast-break points (11).
• ESPN advertised this game as "The Green Game", with an emphasis on eco-friendly tips for preserving the environment.
