Michigan Head Coach Matt Anderson
On the game... "I am very happy. We wanted to establish two-meters -- which Sarah Roberts, Cara Reitz, Michelle Keeley and Farren Rixter did -- and we wanted to have a good counterattack. Mary Chatigny and Keller Felt were amazing on the counterattack. Those were the two areas we wanted to be able to work, and defensively we came to play, which has been nice because we've been doing a lot of that lately."
U-M Junior Mary Chatigny
On the victory... "We came out as hard as we should have because we knew that they would come out looking to knock off number one and go for the upset. We basically had it in our heads that we couldn't let that happen, we had to come out hard and keep pushing the pace the entire game and we couldn't let up on defense. Matt (Anderson) really stressed before the game to focus on defense and not so much on offense because it will come eventually from wearing them out throughout the game."
U-M Freshman Sarah Roberts
On getting focused for the game... "At the beginning, when we were warming up, (U-M associate athletic director) Greg Harden came up and talked to us. He said to take it game by game and make every game count. I think that his reminding us of that got us really focused."
On her fourth-quarter hat trick... "I just got in there and when the ball came to me I just tried to take a quick shot and hope it went in the goal."
U-M Sophomore Leah Robertson
On tying the career steals record... "It is truly an honor to be a part of the history of the program, especially with a great player like Shana (Welch), but right now I have to stay focused on the task at hand."
