KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Senior Mike DePietro (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser HS) and sophomore David Streeter (Beverley Hills, Mich./Birmingham Groves HS) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team concluded action at the WMU Vredevelt Invitational today (Sunday, Nov. 2) as each completed the weekend with 1-2 singles records and combined for a 2-1 doubles record.
In the last match of the tournament held at West Hills Athletic Club, DePietro dropped a three-set match to Western Michigan's Nick Camilleri, who took a one-set lead with a 6-3 win in the first set before DePietro battled back with a 5-7 win in the second set. Camilleri took the match with a 1-0(11) win in the tiebreaker. Streeter finished in fourth place in the gold flight after dropping his final match to Indiana's Jonathan Schroeder, 6-3, 6-2.
This marks the final weekend of fall action for the Wolverines. U-M will next be in action Jan. 9-13 when Michigan heads to the Key Biscayne Individuals, held Jan. 9-11 in Key Biscayne, Fla., and the USTA Futures tournaments, held Jan. 9-13 in North Miami Beach, Fla.
