
Jung, Sroczynski Advance in Doubles at ITA Championships

TULSA, Okla. -- Sophomore Jason Jung(Torrance, Calif./West Torrance HS) and junior Mike Sroczynski(Chatham, N.J./Laurel Springs School) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team picked up a win today (Oct. 9) in the doubles main draw at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The duo, ranked No. 18 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason poll, earned a 9-8(3) victory over Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala from Texas.
In a tight match, Jung and Sroczynski picked up their first career win at the prestigious national tournament and their 21st win as a pair. The Wolverine duo advances to the round of the 16 to be played on Friday (Oct. 10) and will take on sixth-seeded Boris Fetbroyt and Andy Orban from Maryland at noon CST.
Last season, after dropping their first-round main-draw match, Jung and former Wolverine Matko Maravic advanced to the main-draw consolation semifinals.
