ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan senior Rebekah Milian (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 4 softball second team, as voted on by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It was Milian's second straight selection to an All-District squad, adding to last season's first-team nod.

Milian's outstanding academic record has placed her among the most decorated student-athletes in U-M softball history. A physical education major, Milian has led the Wolverines in the classroom in each of her four seasons, earning the team's Leo & Edna Drewett Award for Academic Excellence an unprecedented four times. She is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was named Michigan's choice for the 2007 Big Ten Sportmanship Award.
Athletically, Milian was a four-year mainstay in leftfield for the Wolverines, helping her team secure two Big Ten regular-season titles, two Big Ten Tournament titles and -- most notably -- the 2005 NCAA Championship. Milian improved her offensive production in each collegiate season and -- as a senior captain -- listed third on the team with new personal standards in batting average (.351), runs scored (37), hits (68) and RBI (18).
Milian was selected to the 2007 Great Lakes All-Region second team and earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors after pacing the Wolverines over a busy six-game stretch against Central Michigan, Purdue and Indiana. In 2006 Milian was named to the All-Big Ten third team.
