TULSA, Okla. -- Senior Matko Maravic(Zagreb, Croatia/V. Gimnazija) and freshman Jason Jung(Torrance, Calif./West Torrance HS) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team posted a pair of impressive doubles victories over nationally ranked opponents Friday (Oct. 5) to advance to the semifinals of the 16-team double consolation draw at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships, held at the University's Tulsa's Michael D. After suffering a first-round loss in the 32-team main draw on Thursday (Oct. 5), the Wolverine duo began consolation play against Boise State's No. 30-ranked tandem of Clancy and Luke Shields. Jung and Maravic were broken in two of their first three service games, allowing the Shields brothers to jump out to a 3-1 advantage. On the difference in Jason Jung and Matko Maravic's play today compared to yesterday's... "They returned much better today. We were disappointed with yesterday because we're capable of being a good returning team. We just didn't get any looks yesterday. Today they were presented with more chances to break. They're getting better and better with each match. They're starting to get used to each other. I think Jason is really starting to settle in. A lot of pressure was lifted off of him once he got that first collegiate win today. He was a lot more relaxed going into that second match."
