"Im proud of the staff, not one coach can win an award without a staff. Every year that Ive won Big Ten Coach of the Year, I change it to Big Ten Coaching Staff of the Year. This is a regional award for the entire staff, Anne Takacs, and our volunteer coaches Arnett Chisholm, Dave Woolley, Erica Murdock and Doris Simmons," Henry stated. "I believe we are one of the most consistent and most tenured coaching staffs in the Big Ten, if not the country. Were a coaching staff thats been together for a long time and that is the main reason why weve been very successful, because were very stable. Even our volunteer coaches have been very loyal and consistent, that is why we are able to succeed here at Michigan, because of such a great staff."
During the outdoor season, Henry, McGuire and the Wolverine coaching staff helped lead Michigan to five individual titles and a second-place team finish at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, and U-M set two outdoor school records (100m hurdles and 800m).
