Michigan's 13th-place finish is the best NCAA outdoor finish in program history. The previous high was 15th (15 points) in 1998.
Michigan had four outdoor All-Americans, its second highest total, for the third time (1983 and 1998). The highest total for the outdoor season is five, set in 1982.
All four All-Americans (Nicole Edwards, Geena Gall, Alyson Kohlmeier and Erin Webster) earned the honor for the first time in their outdoor careers.
Freshman Geena Gall is the third Wolverine to earn All-America honors in the outdoor 800m, joining Amy Bannister (8th, 1992) and Katie Erdman (3rd, 2005).
For three straight years there has been a Wolverine All-American in the 1,500m run (Lindsey Gallo in 2004 and 2005; Nicole Edwards in 2006).
Junior Erin Webster and sophomore Alyson Kohlmeier are the second pair of Wolverines to earn All-America honors in the 5,000m outdoor race since 1993 (Molly McClimon and Chris Szabo).

Michigan Head Coach James Henry
On the team's performances ... "I was really pleased with how they ran, and I'm really excited about what they did. I'm even more excited about what's going to happen to the girls next year, because they're all returning to give them another shot."
On the team's best finish in program history ... "I'm really happy with the outcome. Mike (McGuire) deserves all the credit in developing the distance and middle-distance groups, now its time for myself and Anne (Takacs) to get some kids to the nationals next year to earn more points for us. Overall, I was really happy with it, but like I said, Mike deserves all the credit."
Michigan Associate Head Coach Mike McGuire
On middle-distance and distance groups' performances ... "They came in here and did a great job. We finished 13th in the final team scoring, and that's about where we projected to be heading into the meet. I think we had an outstanding meet; we came away with four people scoring."
On how the team remains focused after such a performance... "For most of the team, the season's over, but Geena's (Gall) going to keep going for Junior Nationals. But for the most part, they need to just get away from it for a while and know that what they accomplished is a steppingstone to bigger and better things. They also need to realize that the level of competition is higher than it's ever been in the collegiate ranks in the middle-distance and distance events since I've been at Michigan. So the bar's been raised, and we just want to be equal to the challenge."
