T.J. Hensick scored a goal and an assist to extend his point and assist streaks to five games, and his goal streak to three games. Hensick has a 3-6-9 line over the last five games.
Hensick picked up his 122nd career assist, moving him into a tie with Denny Felsner (1989-92) for seventh place on U-M's forward assists chart. Hensick also upped his career point total to 181, moving him past John Madden (180, 1994-97) for sole possession of 17th place on U-M's forward points list.
Billy Sauer made a career-high 44 saves tonight. His previous career high was 42 saves, set in a 4-2 loss on Dec. 2, 2005 at Miami.
David Rohlfs earned his 10th assist of the season, tying his single-season best set in 2005-06.
Michigan's five-game losing streak to Minnesota is the longest since a seven-game streak that lasted from 1979-80 through 1986-87. U-M's last win against the Gophers came on Dec. 11, 2002.
