John Black Makes All-Regional Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sophomore John Black (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) of the University of Michigan men's cross country team was selected by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association to receive All-Regional honors. Black was selected to the All-Regional team for his performances at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

Coming off of an injury that kept him out of the Big Ten Championships, Black led the Wolverines to a seventh place team finish, crossing the finish line in 19th place with a time of 31:45.27. To be considered for the All Region team, athletes must finish in the top 25 of their region and meet NCAA Division I USTFCCA requirements.
The men's cross country team was unable to qualify for the NCAA Championships next Monday (Nov. 20). The 10,000 meter men's race begins at 1:15 p.m. at the Lavern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.Contact: Tim Trunzo (734) 763-4423
