Wolverine Trio Completes Action at Racquet Club Invite MIDLAND, Texas -- Three members of the University of Michigan men's tennis team competed in the 2006 Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational, held Friday through Sunday (Oct. 13-15) at The Racquet Club.
Sophomore Scott Bruckmann (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephen's Episcopal School) and freshman George Navas (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory School) each picked up one singles victory on the weekend. Navas, who drew a first-round bye in the main draw,defeated Rice's Christoph Muller by a score of 7-6(6), 6-4 in thesecond round. Bruckmann knocked off Texas-Arlington's Diego Mattar by a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(7) in the first round of consolation play.
Next up for the Wolverines is the 2006 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships, from Oct. 19-24, at Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
