Michigan Head Coach Bruce Berque
On his team's performance this weekend ... "I feel that the team played pretty well overall. There were some positives, but there were also some things that made it pretty clear of what we need to work on. Overall, we've shown some improvement from where we started earlier this fall."
On the benefits of playing in this tournament ... "It's just part of the process of trying to improve. It's our first competition of the fall, and you're able to see what stage the team is at better in competition rather than in practice situations. It gives us a good idea of where we are and what we need to do to improve."
U-M Sophomore Andrew Mazlin
On how the team looks early on ... "The team looks very good so far. We did a lot better in this tournament than we did in a similar tournament at Notre Dame last fall. A lot of people have really stepped it up and improved their games. We're all really excited and eager to get back on the court and prepare for regionals that are coming up in the next few weeks."
