Takedown Wrestling Radio to Air Live from Golf Outing

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan head wrestling coach Joe McFarland will serve as co-host when Takedown Wrestling Radio broadcasts live from the ninth annual golf outing on Saturday (June 11) at Moose Ridge Golf Course in South Lyon, Mich.
Takedown Wrestling Radio, hosted every Saturday by Scott Casber on AM 1460 Sports Radio KXNO in Iowa and southern Minnesota, can be accessed via internet at www.takedownradio.com. The weekly program is the only wrestling-specific radio/Internet show available worldwide.
The four-hour live broadcast will be broken down into two back-to-back programs, each two hours in duration. The first segement, from 10 a.m. to noon CDT will be available for radio and Internet listeners, while the second segement, noon-2 p.m. CDT, will only be avaible on the Internet.
Among the participants representing Michigan's storied wrestling history at this year's golf outing are four NCAA champions, 14 All-Americans and 12 Big Ten champions. Notable names include:
Rick Bay -- All-American, former U-M head coach
Ryan Bertin -- two-time NCAA champion, four-time All-American
Mark Churella -- three-time NCAA champion, four-time All-American
John Fisher -- four-time All-American
Steve Fraser -- 1984 Olympic gold medalist, Olympic Greco-Roman head coach, two-time All-American
Jarrett Hubbard -- two-time NCAA champion, four-time All-American
Bill Johannesen -- two-time All-American, former U-M head coach
Joe McFarland -- four-time All-American, current U-M head coach
Scott Rechsteiner -- WWE superstar, All-American
Kirk Trost -- NCAA champion, current U-M wrestling assistant coach
Organized annually by the Cliff Keen Takedown Club, the U-M wrestling golf outing has enjoyed tremendous success for nine years as the Wolverines' primary fundraiser. The 18-hole scramble serves to bring together former and current Wolverine athletes and coaches, parents and U-M supporters for a day of relaxation and fun.
