Wolverines Wins Five of Six Races Against Ohio State

BELLEVILLE, Mich. -- The No. 5-ranked University of Michigan women's rowing team garnered wins in five out of six races against No. 3-ranked Ohio State in U-M's home opener Friday (April 1) on Belleville Lake. The first varsity eight and first varsity four helped Michigan earn wins in two out of the top three races.
The first varsity eight led the way with a win over Ohio State. U-M had a very strong race and held a lead of just over a boat length heading into the final 250 meters. The Maize and Blue ended up with a time 6:11.0, 3.0 seconds faster than OSU. Michigan's second varsity eight dropped its race to the Buckeyes by open water.
The first varsity four race was tightly contested for the full length of the course with U-M pulling it out at the finish line. U-M's second varsity four also won its race over the Buckeyes.
The Wolverine first and second novice eights garnered convincing victories in each of their races against OSU.
