Michigan Softball Coaching Clinic Set for Sept. 19th

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Eight-time Big Ten Coach of the Year Carol Hutchins and her staff will conduct its Michigan Softball Coaches Clinic on Sept. 19 from noon-4 p.m. at Alumni Field. The clinic will consist of practice drills and game strategies directed by Hutchins and her staff in aspects of the game such as infield defense, catching and hitting while the Big Ten champion Michigan softball team will demonstrate these drills and situations.
A special guest to the clinic is world renowned pitching specialist Lori Sippel, who is the associate head coach of the University of Nebraska. Sippel, who is a former Olympian for Canada and the 2002 AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year, will lead the pitching segment of the clinic.
The Michigan coaching staff, which is coming off the program's ninth Big Ten championship and seventh Women's College World Series appearance in 2004, consists of Hutchins, associate head coach Bonnie Tholl and Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Brundage.
Hutchins will lead the catching techniques portion of the clinic while former four-time All-Big Ten shortstop Tholl will direct the infield defensive drills. Current Wolverine pitching coach and former All-American Brundage will perform the offensive drills and hitting instruction.
