Rubin Makes First Appearance on All-Big Ten Squad

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Junior Michael Rubin (Canton, Ohio/Canton Central Catholic HS) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team was named to the 2004 All-Big Ten Conference team, the league office announced today (Thursday, April 29). It marks the first time that Rubin has been selected to the all-conference squad and the first time a Wolverine has earned the distinction since Henry Beam (1999-2002) in 2002.

The co-captain, who sat out the final five dual matches due to injury, finished the 2003-04 season with a 21-12 singles record and a doubles mark of 14-8. He is ranked No. 71 in the most recent ITA national singles rankings (April 27). In two seasons at U-M after transferring from the University of Washington, Rubin has compiled totals of 46-24 in singles and 24-29 in doubles.
