Next on the Tee: Lady Razorback Invitational
After two tournament titles and a runner-up finish, the No. 17-ranked University of Michigan women's golf team heads back to the links Sunday through Tuesday (Oct. 17-19) for the Lady Razorback Invitational in Rogers, Ark. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Pinnacle Country Club with 19 teams total in the field. The tournament course will be set up for a par of 72 and 6,015 yards.
The Tournament Field
The Lady Razorback Invitational features 19 teams and will include: Alabama, Arkansas, Augusta State, Illinois State, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oral Roberts, Southern Mississippi, Southwest Missouri State, Texas A&M, Texas El Paso, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.
The Tournament Schedule
The Lady Razorback Invitational will consist of 54 holes, 18 holes being played each day. The first round of 18 will be played Sunday (Oct. 17), followed by the second round (Oct. 18) and the final round (Oct. 19).

The Tournament Scoring Format
Scoring for the Lady Razorback Invitational will be five players, count the low four scores each round. Several schools will be allowed an individual.
The Michigan Lineup at the Shootout at the Legends
The Wolverines will carry five players and one individual for the Michigan squad at the Lady Razorback Invitational. Senior Laura Olin (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) and sophomore Brianna Broderick (Richmond, Mo./Richmond HS) will head up the U-M squad. Freshman Isabelle Gendreau (St. Georges de Beauce, Quebec/Saint Andrew's School), sophomore Ali Stinson (Penticton, B.C./Penticton Secondary) and freshman Lindsay Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) will round out the Wolverine travel roster. Junior Amy Schmucker (Cold Springs, Minn./Rocori HS) will travel as the individual.
Last Time on Links: U-M Earns Runner-up Finish at Shootout at the Legends
The Wolverines used solid team play in the third round to jump three spots and finish as the runner-up of the Shootout at the Legends (Oct. 4-5) at the Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind. The Maize and Blue tallied a 913 54-hole tournament total after opening with rounds of 307 and 306, Monday, before closing with final round tally of 300, which was the tournament's fourth best team total. Brianna Broderick (74-74-78) and Laura Olin (75-80-71) continued to be the Wolverines 1-2 punch as they both tied for fourth with 226 54-hole tallies. Ali Stinson earned her third straight top three Wolverine team finish as she continued her consistent fall season with a tie for 19th (77-76-79/232). Other Wolverine finishes include: Lindsay Davis, tied for 26th (81-81-75/237), junior/sophomore Molly Spalding (Monroe, Mich./Monroe HS), tied for 28th (86-76-76/238) and Amy Schmucker, tied for 45th (81-83-80/244).
Wolverines Moves Up Spot in Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Rating
Afte the runner-up title at the Shootout at the Legends, the Wolverines moved themselves higher in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Rating Top 25, as the Wolverines are 17th as of the Oct. 12 rankings. The Maize and Blue, who are among four Big Ten teams in the top 25, have a performance rating of 74.23. Duke sits atop the poll with a rating of 71.61, with Auburn (72.19) second and UCLA (72.60) third. In the individual rankings, a pair of Wolverines remained in the Top 50. Sophomore Brianna Broderick is tied for the 27th spot (72.59), while Laura Olin is 41st (73.02).
The performance rating system is based on a mathematical formula that uses a player's won-lost-tied record against other players when they play on the same course on the same day, and the stroke differential between those players, then links all players to one another based on common opponents. The ratings give an indication of who is playing well over the past 52 weeks.

What a Way to Begin the Season!
After the 2004 Mary Fossum Invitational team title and 2004 Lady Northern Invitational trophy, the Wolverines won their first two tournaments of the season. In their third tournament of the season the Wolverines were runner-up at the 2004 Shootout at the Legends helping them to a 41-1 record through their first three competitions.
What This Title Means In the History Books
With the 2004 Mary Fossum Invitational title, the Wolverines now have won 24 team titles in team history. The team crystal also marks Michigan coach Kathy Teichert's 16th title in her 12 seasons with the Wolverines. With the team victory at the Mary Fossum, the Wolverines have now won two team titles in back-to-back seasons. In addition, the two victories in two weeks gives the Wolverines at least one tournament title in four of the last five seasons.
Broderick Joins Exclusive Group
With medalist honors at the 2004 Mary Fossum Invitational, Brianna Broderick recorded her first career collegiate tournament win. The title makes her the 12th Wolverine to win a title and gives the Wolverine program their 19th overall medalist trophy. Broderick is the first U-M sophomore to win an event since Kim Benedict in 2001.
Title Gives Broderick Career Numbers
Along with her first collegiate title at the 2004 Mary Fossum Invitational, Brianna Broderick set a career-best 54-tourmament total at the East Lansing tournament. Her 219 tally was a career-best by four strokes. A week prior she recorded the 223 at the Lady Northern Invitational.
A Wolverine Presence
In three tournaments this season, Brianna Broderick, Laura Olin and Ali Stinson have place in the top 10 of each tournament. Dating back to last season, the Wolverines have had at least one competitor finish among the top 20 in eight straight tournaments.
Olin In the Hunt Through First Three Tournaments
In three tournaments this season, Laura Olin has yet to finish below fourth. She tied for the runner-up spot at the Lady Northern Invitational, was fourth at the Mary Fossum Invitational and tied for fourth at the Shootout at the Legends. She is second on the Wolverines with a 74.67 scoring average.
Broderick Still Rolling Along
In three tournaments this season, Brianna Broderick has yet to finish below eighth. She won her first career tournament at the Mary Fossum Invitational, tied for fourth at the Shootout at the Legends and tied for eighth at the Northern Invitational, the season-opening tournament. She leads the Wolverines with a 74.22 scoring average.
Olin's Final Round Sets Marks
Laura Olin's final round one-under 71 was the top single round tally at the Shootout at the Legends. It also marked the second time this year she has broken par. In the first round of the year she also had a one-under 71 at the Lady Northern Invitational. In addition her final round 71 ties her for the lowest tally by a Wolverine for the season. Olin had a 71 first round of the Lady Northern Invitational and Brianna Broderick had a 71 in the second round of the Lady Northern.
Spalding Making the Most of Her Time
Despite playing as an individual for the second straight week, Molly Spalding set a new career best with a tie for ninth showing at the Mary Fossum Invitational. She topped the tie for 10th she had last season at the 2003 Wolverine Invitational (Oct. 4-5). She also set a new career-best single round score of 73 in the second round of the Mary Fossum. Her previous best of 74 was set in the third round of the 2004 Lady Northern Invitational. She competed in her first tournament of the year in the starting lineup at the Shootout at the Legends, where she tied for 28th (86-76-76/238).
Freshman Getting Into the Mix
Lindsay Davis played in her second tournament for the Wolverines at the Shootout at the Legends. In both of her tournaments she has competed as a starter. Her final round three-over 75 at the Shootout was a career-best single-round tally. She topped the 77 she had in the second round of the Lady Northern Invitational, the season-opening tournament.
Streaks Extending and Coming Close to All-Time Mark
Laura Olin extended her consecutive tournament streak to 41 by playing at the 2004 Shootout at the Legends. She has not missed a tournament in her three seasons. Amy Schmucker sits at 27 straight tournaments, while Brianna Broderick and Ali Stinson have played in 15 straights tournaments for the Maize and Blue. Former Wolverine Kim Benedict (2000-03) holds the U-M record, playing in all 49 tournaments during her four-year career.
