Wolverines Set to Host Big Ten Singles Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis program and the Varsity Tennis Center will host the 2003 Big Ten Singles Championships this Saturday through Monday (Nov. 15-17). Tennis action will begin at 8 a.m. the first two days, with the time of Monday's semifinal and final rounds to be announced later.
The tournament will feature a field of 64 players from every conference squad except Illinois, which will not be attending the weekend event. There will also be a bracket for No. 7-9 players, which will be contested at the Liberty Athletic Club on Saturday before moving to the VTC the following day.
The Wolverines will field all nine of their players at the tournament, with junior Michael Rubin (Canton, Ohio/Canton Central Catholic HS) earning the No. 1 seed in the event.
Competition will be going on all day during the tournament, and admission is free. Results will be updated after each day on MGoBlue.com.
