Senior Misia Lemanski, who led the Wolverines with a one-under-par 71 in the second round, takes a look at the Wolverines' first trip to the NCAA Championships.
Today was the second day, leaving two more days to make our move. Overall it was a pretty steady day for me. I started out my front nine by making a few steady pars and putting myself into position to make some birdies. I ended up making birdies on my fourth and seventh holes, which put me at two under par making the turn. Even though I made two bogeys in a row on the back nine, I maintained my confidence and composure, which allowed me to birdie my 16th hole and finish my round at one under par.

This course sets up wonderfully for all of our games. Kim Benedict and Bess Bowers are long off the tee and can take advantage of the huge fairways. Laura Olin is a sharp-shooter with her irons and approach shots, which is great for the multi-tiered and extremely large greens. I excel with my putter and wedges, so I am taking advantage of the greens because they run very true and smoothly. The overall openness of the course holds a lot of potential for birdies to be made and with LeAnna Wicks' patience she is bound to take advantage of the birdie opportunities.
This week has been really exciting and I am so glad that I get to share this experience with some of my best friends. I am also grateful that my mother has made the trip out here to support me in my last college tournament ever! I wish the rest of my family could be here with me to, but don't worry Dad, Trisha, Uncle Doug, Nana and Dziadzi, I got you lots of memorabilia! I miss you!
Finally, this has been a great learning experience for not only myself but the rest of the team as well. We have all learned that as a team, and individually, we can compete with some of the top players in the nation. It is great to know that our program is just as good as theirs, and ours is only getting better! We have made it to our first NCAAs, and I have no doubt that Kim and Laura will take our team to our second NCAA Championships next year at Purdue.
My college golf career at Michigan is coming to a close in two days. Although I will be here next year, I will deeply miss playing golf and all of the friendships I have made. Our team is together pretty much 24/7 and these girls are like my sisters. I love them to death and thank them for everything they have shared with and taught me.
