PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- University of Michigan junior/sophomore punter and placekicker Adam Finley (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) was named Big Ten Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the U-M football team's game at Ohio State (Nov. 23). This is the first career weekly award for Finley and the fourth time this season that a Wolverine has been selected for a Player of the Week award.

Finley punted four times at Ohio State for a 42.5 average. For the season, Finley has punted 62 times for 2,627 yards (42.4 average), the third most punting yards in a season by a Wolverine. He is just 133 yards shy of the punt yardage record (2,760 yards) set by Hayden Epstein in 2001.
Finley doubled his career and season field goal total from three to six in the OSU game. In the five games that he has been handling placekicking duties, Finley has scored 33 points (six-for-nine field goals and 15-for-15 on extra points) and he ranks fourth on the team in scoring.
The Wolverines (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) finished third in the Big Ten and are ranked 12th in the latest Associated Press and 14th in the ESPN/USA Today polls (Nov. 24). U-M awaits selection to its 28th consecutive -- and 34th overall -- bowl game.
