Today's announced crowd of 105,539 fans at Ohio Stadium is the largest for a Wolverine team on the road this season and set a new stadium record.
Ohio native B.J. Askew was today's special teams captain. Askew finished the day with 45 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving.
Junior tailback Chris Perry surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing barrier in a season for the first time in his career with his eight-yard scamper late in the second quarter. Perry set a career high with 28 rushing attempts and finished the day with 76 yards.
Sophomore Braylon Edwards had his third 100-yard receiving game of the season. Edwards caught a career-high 10 passes for 107 yards.
Senior wide receiver Ronald Bellamy had his second 100-yard game of the season, gaining 101 yards. He also set a career high by catching eight passes.
Adam Finley connected on three first-half field goals from 36, 35 and 22 yards out, doubling his previous season total of three. Finley punted four times for a 42.5-yard average and knocked two inside the OSU 20-yard line.
The Wolverines finished off the first-half scoring with a 19-play, 88-yard drive that was capped by Adam Finley's third field goal of the half. The 19 plays mark the second longest drive in school history, topped only by their 22-play drive against Duke on Sept. 17, 1977. The drive lasted 8:24, which is good for seventh all-time at U-M.
Sophomore cornerback Marlin Jackson added to his school single-season pass breakup record by collecting one pass defended to give him 18 on the year.
Senior/junior defensive end Shantee Orr recorded his sixth sack of the season early in the third quarter to give him the team lead. Orr has totaled 13 sacks for his career.
Sophomore/freshman linebacker Scott McClintock matched his career high with eight tackles and assisted on one tackle for loss.
Senior linebacker Victor Hobson finished the day with seven tackles and two tackles for loss and assisted on one sack.
Fifth-year senior Julius Curry returned from an injury against Purdue to return four punts for 46 yards, with a long return of 20 yards.
Today's game marks the 25th career start for seniors Ronald Bellamy, Dave Petruziello and Cato June.
Today's loss was the first for head coach Lloyd Carr against a team ranked in the Associated Press top five since he took over as head coach in 1995.
