Michigan's Andy Matthews (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central HS) holds the men's course record with a 68 fired in the second round of the Northern Intercollegiate.
Championship Scoring
Team scores shall be determined by adding the low four scores of each team for each round. A team shall consist of no more than five players per institution. Ties in a team or individual competition after 72 holes at the championship shall stand.

All 11 Big Ten Conference teams will participate in the championship. The seeding for the championship was determined by each team's final finish from the 2000 Big Ten Conference Championship. First-round pairings will be played in 28 twosomes starting with the No. 5 player going to the No. 1 player in eight-minute intervals. Pairings for the second and final days shall follow the same 28-twosome pattern, but with new team seedings according to team totals to date from the championship.

U-M Finishes 10th at Fossum to Close Regular Season
The Wolverines used their best team total of the tournament (292) to move up one position and finish 10th at the Bruce Fossum/TeamGearOnline.com Invitational (April 28-29) at Forest Akers West Course in East Lansing, Mich. The Wolverines tallied team totals of 294 and 298 on the first day for an 884 total. Redshirt freshman Chris Kellogg competed in just his second tournament of the year and led the Wolverines the entire invitational. Kellogg tied for 22nd after carding rounds of 73, 73 and 74 for a seven-over-par total of 220. The finish, the two rounds of 73 and the 220 total were all career bests for Kellogg. Andy Matthews used a career-best-tying 68 in the final round to vault him 33 positions as he tied for 33rd. He fired back-to-back rounds of 77 on the first day and finished with a 222 total. Kellogg Makes Impressive Debut

Prior to the Fossum, he competed in the Wolverine South (March 3-4), but as an individual. Kellogg's tie for 22nd, round score of 73 in the first and second rounds and 220 total in East Lansing were career best marks. His previous best was a round score of 81 in the second round at the Wolverine South and a 69th-place finish at the South. He had not competed in a three-round tournament prior to the Fossum.
Matthews Hits Career Mark
Andy Matthews carded a career-best-tying 68 in the final round of the Bruce Fossum/TeamGearOnline.com Invitational. The last time he fired a 68 was in the second round of the Northern Intercollegiate (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), which set the one-round record at the Stone Creek Golf Course. Prior to twice hitting the mark this season, Matthews shot 68 in the second round of the Xavier Invitational (Oct. 11-12, 1999) and in his very first collegiate round ever, at the Northern Intercollegiate (Sept. 18-19, 1998). Matthews has not missed a tournament his entire career at Michigan, playing in 36 straight. He is also second on the team with a 74.40 scoring average.
