Notre Dame Hands Wolverines Sixth Straight Loss

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis squad suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 26-ranked Notre Dame Thursday afternoon (March 8) at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. The Wolverines (5-6) were forced to move everyone up a spot in the lineup since No. 1 singles player and junior co-captain Henry Beam (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix HS) was unable to play for the second straight match due to a back injury.
The Fighting Irish swept all three doubles matches, including two tight contests at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Notre Dame earned the shutout with victories at all six singles spots.
The Wolverines take a week off before returning to the hardcourt against Bowling Green at the Varsity Tennis Center (Thursday, March 22, 3 p.m.).
