Diver Coben Qualifies for NCAA Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Freshman Jason Coben (Newtown Square, Pa./Maple Newtown HS) of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team qualified for the NCAA Championships with his performance at the NCAA Zone C Diving Meet on Friday and Saturday (March 9-10) at Indiana University's Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center.
Coben earned one of the zone's six spots in the NCAA meet when he placed second on the one-meter springboard Friday with a score of 300.90. Indiana senior Tom Davidson won the event (339.45).
On the second day of the meet, Coben had fifth- and fourth-place finishes in the three-meter and platform with scores of 486.45 and 369.50, respectively.
The Wolverines will have another week off before heading to College Station, Texas, to compete in the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships (March 22-24).
