ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Led by junior Scott Vetere (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown HS) and sophomore Kris Zimmerman (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier HS), the third-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team put up a season-high score of 216.550 and defeated top-ranked University of Oklahoma (215.750) and No. 10 University of Massachusetts (202.350) in the BMG Showdown on Sunday (Feb. 18) at Cliff Keen Arena.

Vetere earned first-place honors in the all-around (54.600) and on the pommel horse (9.450), still rings (9.650) and parallel bars (9.250). Zimmerman finished in second place in the all-around (54.000) and on the horizontal bar (9.250) while tying for first place on the vault (9.150) with teammate Brad Kenna (Barberton, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit HS).

Kenna also finished second on the floor exercise (9.350) and fourth in the all-around (52.250) and on the horizontal bar (8.900). Junior Daniel Diaz-Luong (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt HS) captured the horizontal bar title (9.525) and finished fifth in the all-around (51.375).

The Wolverines return to action next Saturday (Feb. 24) when they travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to take on the University of Minnesota at 1 p.m. CST.
